Al Unser, Jr. ArcadeTM Racing |
Al Unser Jr. Arcade Racing is an arcade
style racer for Windows starring F1 racer of the same name. The game doesn't
offer much to the simulation freak, but if you're looking for a simple
race-around-a-track game with fast smooth graphics, then this might be just
right for you. The controls seem to get a bit too responsive on faster
computers. If you're having trouble staying on course, try a slow-down util for
Windows, like Turbo. |
Deadlock |
Deadlock is a turn-based,
planet-conquering, alien-stomping, anti-matter tank
building strategy game with six playable races, including humans. |
Earthworm Jim |
Earthworm Jim game was for 1
player only. You were Jim and you had to journey through 8
stages of craziness, and fun. You were equipped with your head
whip and trusty plasma blaster. You also found one other weapon
a mega plasma blaster that shot a powerful shot that destroyed
everything on the screen. You also had moves that helped
you get to places you needed to go like head helicopter
and the head whip to the hooks. You had to fight bosses
on each and every level unlike the sequel where you only
had a boss on two stages. You also have a very
fun side game that you can play. |
Empire 2 The Art of War |
This is a great turn-based strategy game where your goal is to
create an army and defeat your enemies. This game offers a bunch of scenarios
you can play, and you can play them against the computer or a friend. The
scenarios spawn from historical scenarios to sci-fi, mythological and fantasy
battles. You can also create your own scenarios in this game. The graphics and
sound are good enough for the game and the game play is fun, its always fun to
make a scenario and play against your friends on it. |
Excalibur 2555AD |
Medieval England is in serious trouble. Knights from the future have come back and stolen the legendary sword Excalibur. As the niece of the fables Merlin, you set off on a journey through thirteen different and exotic levels in search of the mythical sword. Puzzles, traps, enemies, allies; they all await you in this action/adventure title from SirTech. Taking cues from already established hits such as Tomb Raider, Excalibur 2555 A.D. takes place from a third-person perspective which allows for a better flow of gameplay. As you advance through the mythical world of ancient England, you encounter various types of items and weapons, all of which will aid you in your quest for Excalibur. |
Fathom |
When you begin Fathom, you are presented with a pool of colored tiles. Each player is given a particular player color. At the top of the pool are three pots of active fill colors- these pots are always the colors in use for the present turn. |
Lode Runner – The Legend Returns |
Lode Runner: The Legend Returns, has an exciting single player game. It contains
150 levels across Ten Underground Zones. Some of the levels rival Myst in their
brain twisting and insanity. You play as either Jake Peril or Wes Reckless,
adventurers intent on returning the treasures of their people to where they
belong.
Lode Runner: The Legend Returns sports an excellent one player game. It also has
a devious two player mode in which two players must work together to solve some
of the puzzles. |
Metersteiner Beer Manager |
Metersteiner Beer Manager is a simulation strategy game that is both fun and
unique. Situated in Germany in the year 1950, you become the manager
of the Metersteiner Brewery and have forty years to build a brewing empire. Starting with a credit of $4,000,000 you must select a site and begin
construction of a brewery. Using a type of interface that is similar to SimCity by
Maxis, you can add different components to your brewery to
improve quality, production, maintenance, storage and shipping. |
Pyrotechnica |
Pyrotechnica is a 1995 3D first-person and third-person shooter video
game developed and published by Psygnosis for the DOS platform. Gameplay takes place in a zero-G 3D
environment, a stylised representation of
a space station. Players must use their ship's weaponry to destroy enemy ships
and complete certain tasks before using an exit portal. |
Sim City 2000 |
When you play SimCity 2000, you become the
planner, designer and Mayor of an unlimited number of cities. You can take over and run any of the included scenario
cities, or build your own from the ground up. You're in charge. You can choose to build
small, rural towns, or huge bustling megalopolises. As you design and build your
cities, simulated citizens, known as Sims, move in and build their homes, stores and
workplaces, raise their families and invite their friends. If your city is a nice place to
live, your population will increase. If it's not, your Sims will leave town. And be assured that they'll let you know what they think about you and your
policies. |
Star Command Revolution |
Star Command: Revolution is a real-time strategy game by Metropolis
Digital, Inc., now Metro3D, Inc., and published by GT Interactive. It was originally released in 1996 for
DOS, but it was re-released in 1998 for Windows 95/98 under the title Star Command
Deluxe. A sequel, Armada 2: Star Command (a.k.a. Armada 2: Exodus and Star Command
X: Armada), was hinted at upon successful completion of the campaign mode, but it was never produced |
Take no Prisoners |
Take No Prisoners, a top-down action game, tries to fill a gap in the action game genre so heavily populated by the first person
shooter. It looks like a modern update to the arcade classic Gauntlet, and it plays
similarly. The developers at Raven succeed fairly well with the game, offering 3D accelerated graphics that aren't too shabby as well as plenty of
violence, gore, weapons, and enemies. Take No Prisoners is definitely a step towards expanding the action genre and is
good, gun-slinging fun at the same time. |
Wetrix |
The player has control of each Piece as it falls. Pieces can be
rotated if necessary and, if a Piece is in place before it hits the land, the drop button will make it fall faster, thus increasing the
points scored and giving more time to trap flowing water. |
Yoda Stories |
In Yoda Stories, you play for young Luke
Skywalker,
Jedi junior varsity and errand boy for Yoda.
On distant planet Dagobah the ancient Jedi Master, Yoda, has taken a new student under his wing. To join the elite, Luke Skywalker must endure the most rigorous training. Tests of the mind, tests of the body, and tests of the heart must all be passed before he can truly call himself a Jedi. |
